Default Phentermine & Depression

I have been reading up on some more for Phentermine and wanted to know since at one point I was taking Prozac and within a year that I had stopped is when I started on Phentermine if anything could cross over here. I think it might depend why you are on anti-depression meds to start with but I might be wrong since it seems they both work with different parts of the brain, anyone know?

Are you asking whether phentermine can help depression? If that's what you are asking I would have to say that it is possible because it is a stimulant. So maybe that's possible.

I'm not worried so much about it making me depressed, as I am the agitated and anxious feelings that can go along with this medication. I can't stand that antsy feeling.

No not asking if it can help depression. I was talking about if you are already on an anti depression pill, and also taking Phen if there can be good or bad results from it. My doctor never mentioned it too me since I was already off the AD by the time I started Phen.

Hi,

Well from my experience.. I have always been predisposed to depression but never been on antidepressants. While on Phentermine have gone back and forth between really happy and edgy and picking fights with family. But the worst thing is when you come off, I got really severly depressed for about a month..it was a long time before i felt normal again. so i would be wary about taking it if you have a history of depression. Because the 'come down' when you finish it can trigger it big time. No wonder people get addicted.. you just want more to feel better again!

Wow thank you for sharing your experience, Funkie! Not everyone is willing to share that kind of information and it is really helpful to potential users of Phentermine who are unsure about the dependence and mood swing factors.
