Default Phentermine and High Blood Pressure

My doctor wants me to loose about 50 lbs so I can get off my high blood pressure medicine. He suggested phentermine back in December and I told him I wanted to try on my own for awhile. It seems I have gained and lost the same 10 lbs over and over since December. I finally called today and he is going to write a prescription for me. He wants me to try it for a month and call in weekly with blood pressure readings. Is anyone taking blood pressure medicine and have you had trouble with increased blood pressure? I only take 12.5 mg of blood pressure medicine a day. I am just curious what anyone else has experienced. Thanks!

I take 25 mg bp meds a day and have been on Phentermine for two weeks. I have not noticed a higher bp - in fact, it's gone down. I do about 1 to 1 1/2 hours exercise a day including treadmill and water aerobics and have not problems with an elevated heart rate during exerise as well.

I do keep a very close eye on my bp though by consulting my bp cuff at home and pay attention to how I am feeling.

Hope it works well for you too!
